Great news for H-1B and L-1 visa holders and their families! The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced an important change that significantly benefits H-1B and L-1 visa holders and their spouses. The automatic extension period for Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) has been increased from 180 days to 540 days. This change provides much-needed relief, allowing spouses of visa holders to continue working legally without the fear of unexpected employment gaps caused by processing delays.
