Shocking news coming out of India! The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a major investigation into a human trafficking ring involving some Indian individuals, entities, and Canadian colleges. The racket allegedly involves luring Indian nationals with promises of admissions into Canadian colleges but instead trafficking them into the U.S. illegally. Victims were charged between ₹55 and ₹60 lakh per person to be smuggled across the US-Canada border.

This investigation was triggered after a tragic incident in 2022, where a family from Gujarat, India, lost their lives trying to cross the border in freezing temperatures. The ED suspects that around 262 Canadian colleges may be involved, with thousands of students being used as part of this illegal scheme. The probe is still ongoing, and the ED has already conducted searches across various locations in India.
